Job Description Summary: The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for developing and executing Mission Critical Group's enterprise supply chain sourcing strategy across direct and indirect spend categories while leading supplier quality, supplier performance, sourcing risk management, and strategic supplier relationship initiatives. This role is accountable for delivering material productivity objectives, improving supplier on-time delivery performance, and ensuring supplier quality, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity support enterprise business objectives. This position establishes supply chain sourcing standards, leads commercial negotiations, develops strategic supplier partnerships, and collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Quality, Logistics, Data & Analytics, Digital Transformation, and Supply Chain Excellence teams to drive measurable business results across all Centers of Excellence. Primary Areas of Responsibility: Direct & Indirect Spend Categories Supplier Quality & Performance Strategic Supplier Relationship Management Key Business Outcomes: Material Productivity Accountabilities: Supply Chain Sourcing & Category Management Develop and execute enterprise sourcing and category management strategies that support business growth, supply continuity, cost competitiveness, material productivity, and risk mitigation across direct and indirect spend categories. Develop and maintain enterprise Approved Supplier Lists (ASLs), sourcing standards, and category strategies across all Centers of Excellence. Lead supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and supplier agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), and other strategic commercial arrangements in partnership with Legal, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain leadership. Monitor commodity markets, supplier capacity, tariffs, and industry trends while driving strategic supplier partnerships, supply continuity, and long-term enterprise value. Own supplier performance outcomes across strategic suppliers and key spend categories, including supplier on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, capacity, and commercial performance. Establish supplier qualification, onboarding, and compliance requirements in partnership with Quality and Operations leadership. Develop supplier scorecards and performance review processes that provide visibility to delivery, quality, responsiveness, capacity, risk, and commercial performance. Drive corrective action, supplier development, audit, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives to address supplier performance and quality gaps. Support supplier capacity planning, readiness, and supply continuity initiatives to align supplier capabilities with current and future business requirements. Sourcing Governance & Risk Management Establish enterprise sourcing policies, standards, governance processes, and supplier compliance requirements across all Centers of Excellence. Maintain supplier risk management processes, including supplier assessments, single-source exposure analysis, business continuity planning, and mitigation of supply-related risks. Provide sourcing-related insights, recommendations, market intelligence, and risk mitigation strategies to executive leadership. Serve as a member of the Supply Chain leadership team and a key advisor to the VP, Supply Chain on sourcing strategy, supplier performance, supplier quality, material productivity, inventory and working capital, and strategic supplier initiatives. Support execution of the VP, Supply Chain's strategy while exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority within established business objectives, governance requirements, and commercial frameworks. Build effective working relationships with COE Presidents and senior leaders across Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Operational Excellence, Logistics, and Digital Transformation to drive cross-functional alignment and enterprise business results. Lead executive supplier engagements, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), supplier negotiations, escalation activities, and strategic supplier relationship management initiatives involving key suppliers. Prepare and maintain executive-ready reporting, analysis, and presentations related to supplier performance, supplier quality, material productivity, sourcing initiatives, inventory and working capital, and supply risk for Internal Operating Reviews (IORs), executive reviews, and other leadership forums. Communicate supplier performance trends, commercial opportunities, supply risks, mitigation strategies, and business impacts to executive leadership while driving alignment and accountability across COEs. Performance Management & KPIs Material Productivity Own enterprise reporting, governance, supplier engagement, and improvement plans. Lead improvement initiatives through COE teams. Own enterprise reporting, supplier escalations, recovery plans, and performance improvement initiatives. Lead improvements through COE teams. Supplier Quality & Performance Own supplier scorecards, supplier reviews, supplier development initiatives, and improvement plans. Partner with COE teams to execute corrective actions and performance improvements. Category Management Own category strategies, sourcing governance, strategic supplier relationships, commercial negotiations, and supplier consolidation initiatives. Inventory & Working Capital Drive improvements through lead-time reduction, payment terms optimization, MOQ strategies, supplier flexibility, capacity management, and supply continuity initiatives. You drive corrective action when targets are missed and ensure commercial commitments translate into measurable enterprise value. Qualifications Required Knowledge/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, commodity management, or supply chain leadership within manufacturing, or engineered products environments. Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise sourcing and category management strategies across multiple sites, business units, or product lines. Proven experience negotiating complex commercial agreements, long-term supply contracts, supplier partnerships, and risk-sharing arrangements. Experience leading supplier performance improvement initiatives related to quality, delivery, capacity, responsiveness, and cost. Demonstrated success delivering material productivity, cost reduction, value engineering, and supplier rationalization initiatives. Strong understanding of supplier quality systems, supplier development methodologies, contract governance, and supply risk management. Experience building executive-level supplier relationships and conducting supplier business reviews. Experience working effectively in multi‑site, matrixed, and growth-oriented organizations. Required Skills/Abilities: Advanced negotiation, supplier relationship management, and commercial leadership capabilities. Strong financial acumen, including cost modeling, total cost of ownership analysis, savings validation, and margin impact assessment. Ability to develop and execute enterprise sourcing and supplier management strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans. Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders and drive alignment without direct organizational authority. Strong executive communication, presentation, and supplier, and executive engagement skills. Demonstrated ability to lead supplier performance improvement initiatives and manage complex supplier relationships. High level of accountability, business judgment, and follow‑through. Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast‑paced, and growth‑oriented environments. Supervisory Requirements Provides leadership and direction to Supply Chain professionals responsible for direct sourcing, indirect sourcing, supplier quality, supplier development, supplier performance, and other resources as assigned. Establishes performance expectations, development objectives, and functional priorities aligned with enterprise sourcing strategy, supplier performance, supplier quality, supplier risk management, material productivity, and strategic supplier relationship goals. Drives accountability for material productivity, supplier performance, supplier quality, sourcing risk mitigation, supplier development, and strategic category management objectives across assigned areas of responsibility. Provides coaching, mentoring, and professional development to strengthen leadership capability, negotiation expertise, category management knowledge, supplier relationship management skills, supplier quality expertise, and commercial acumen. Fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, cross‑functional collaboration, and data‑informed decision making. Develops organizational capability through succession planning, talent development, knowledge sharing, and implementation of sourcing, supplier quality, supplier performance, and supplier development best practices. Builds a high‑performing organization capable of effectively supporting COE Presidents, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and executive leadership while delivering enterprise supply chain objectives. Ensures team resources, priorities, and development plans remain aligned with the strategic direction established by the VP, Supply Chain and the needs of the enterprise. Work Environment and Physical Demands FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays) This role will work in an office setting, however, frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards, and engage staff. Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs. Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards. Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effective with team members.
