Skills

• Knowledge of resource development, grant proposal preparation, basic accounting, and statistics at a level normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or another related field.
• Experience in creating Social Media strategy, successful implementation and audience growth.
• Proficient with spreadsheet applications and database applications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams
• Experience with Donor Management Software/CRM (Customer Relationship Management) to leverage and maximize relationships with donors.
• Experience with organizing fundraising events to generate awareness and increase revenue.
• Interpersonal and public speaking skills necessary to persuade groups and individuals to provide donations to Alta Mira, and establish rapport with outside organizations, individuals, etc.
• Analytical skills necessary to provide input into the development of strategies for a resource development program.

• Ability to express ideas orally and in writing that are clear and concise in order to prepare public relations materials, proposal submissions, strategies, and plans for a resource development program.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail in order to compile and analyze information regarding potential donors, resources, and public relations material.

Experience

Two (2) years' experience in fundraising or business development. Previous experience with Developmental Disabilities a plus.

BA/BS in Communications, Marketing Business Administration or another related field required.

MA/MS in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or another related field preferred.

Job Functions

• Identify and solicit potential donors for a variety of activities and needs related to Alta Mira's services and needs.
• Develop and maintain an ongoing CRM system/database of potential philanthropic donors including individual, corporate and foundation benefactors.
• Develop and maintain an on-going system/process for soliciting, documenting, and thanking donors.
• Network with the local business community to aide in generating event sponsorship, in-kind donations, donor procurement and general agency support.
• Develop and maintain the Philanthropic/Benefactor program, within the guidelines developed by the Board of Directors, including the development of strategies for identifying and soliciting benefactors and working with the Board of Directors, volunteers, and others regarding solicitations, marketing, and related activities.
• Write proposals or assist in the preparation of proposals for public and private grants, foundations, trusts etc.
• Research funding opportunity deadlines, draft grant requests and submit reports for approval.
• Plan, develop and implement written fund development and marketing strategies, in conjunction with the Resource Development Committee of the Board of Directors, that meets the short (1 year) and the long (2 -5 years) term resource needs of the agency.
• Prepare written materials for the purpose of marketing, including the case statement, brochures, the annual report, and public relations materials.
• Act as staff liaison to the Board of Directors Resource Development and Nominating committees.
• Accept responsibility for the quality of job performance, using supervision effectively by applying relevant feedback in the work setting and incorporating constructive feedback from supervisor to improve job performance.
• Share pertinent information with supervisor, team members and/or co-workers regarding work progress, successes, barriers, concerns and other areas that may have an impact on the agency's services and/or programs.
• Inform and educate the volunteer leadership concerning program presentation and the Board of Director's role in resource development.
• Organize and implement fundraising events and generate name brand awareness, according to the Resource Development plan.
• Recruit and staff a committee of volunteers Implement and maintain reporting of the results of fundraising efforts.
• Work with the Executive Director and management team to complete other projects as assigned.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
