Warehouse ManagerBusiness Unit: MAAG Gala Inc.Reports To: Director of OperationsPosition Location: Eagle Rock, VAPosition Type: Full-timeLeadership responsibility: YesMain position objectivesThe Warehouse Manager completes various management, organization, and planning tasks to maintain high performance of the warehouse's inventory, receiving and shipping processes. In addition, the Warehouse Manager leads their team by setting productivity and accuracy goals, setting up logical organization systems and by creating communication systems within the organization. The core function of the Inventory Manager is to drive daily engagement and accountability in continuous improvement by implementing 5S, Problem Solving, Standard Work and driving a kaizen culture where team members are involved and engaged in improving their own work areas.Position description – Tasks, responsibilities, competenciesEnsure that the warehouse and the team operate at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goalDirect shipments and resolve logistical challenges by communicating with clients, sales, transportation providers, manufacturers, and suppliersInitiates problem solving methodologies like 5 WHY and FAST on recurring issues.Promotes and supports Daily Kaizen activity among team members.Drives daily engagement and accountability for results as part of the daily Tier meeting structure. Escalates opportunities in a timely manner and seeks rapid responses from other team members and departments. Communicates actions back to his team members.Determine standards for quality control and set expectations for the inspection of inventory and packaging before orders are sent to the next locationDevelop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, gate processes, and shipping protocolsStrategize inventory volumes and warehouse capacity to maximize productivityAudit and report inventorySet warehouse and team goals in collaboration with the Director of Operations and other area leadersMonitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employee's knowledge baseCommunicate and collaborate with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner while building strong trust-based working relationshipsDevelop and implement Process Improvements, including new technology, for all warehouse-related functionsSpearhead improvements in material flow, layout and inventory organizationPromote a healthy and safe work environment, encourage continuous improvement spirit within teamLead and participate in inventory audit requirements, ensuring processes align with expected resultsThe incumbent considers all interests of quality, accident prevention and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and proactively supports the avoidance of damages to people, facilities, assets, material and environmentThe incumbent is obliged to perform tasks requested by management that relate to his position scope or arise from company needs. While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
