National Sales Director - Outdoor Destination and Leisure

Imperial has been making headwear since 1916, and we're building on that history in new ways. Golf is our home turf, but the next chapter is everywhere else people go to enjoy life: ski towns, surf shops, breweries, wineries, distilleries, resorts, and lifestyle retailers across the country. Our Destination & Leisure business has a strong product and a well-known brand, and it has far more room to grow than it has captured. We need a builder to lead that growth.

As National Sales Director, you'll own the national strategy for D&L. You'll shape the go-to-market plan, build and strengthen our independent rep network, open doors with new accounts, and report to leadership on what's working and what isn't. It's a hands-on role. You'll be in the market, at trade shows, and alongside your reps, and you'll also be the person who can walk our finance team through the numbers and the plan behind them.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Finalize and execute the D&L go-to-market strategy, including which channels, markets, and accounts to prioritize first.
• Lead, evaluate, and grow our network of independent reps and agencies, upgrading coverage where needed and helping reps win with our line.
• Build relationships with key national and regional accounts, and negotiate pricing, terms, and programs.
• Own forecasting, pipeline management, and regular reporting to sales and finance leadership.
• Work with product, marketing, and operations to bring market feedback into assortments, launches, and inventory planning.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 7+ years of sales experience in apparel, headwear, or related consumer goods.
• A track record of meeting or beating national sales targets.
• Experience leading independent sales reps or agencies.
• A data-driven approach: comfortable using CRM, pipeline data, and sales analytics to run the business and tell the story behind the numbers.
• Strong business sense, including margins, terms, and how sales decisions affect the P&L.
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills, and comfort with 70% travel, especially in the first two years.

NICE TO HAVE

• A background with premium or lifestyle apparel brands.
• Experience in outdoor, snow, surf, golf, or specialty retail channels.
• Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems such as NetSuite or Salesforce.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Competitive base salary plus a performance-based bonus.
• Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus an Employee Assistance Program.
• 401(k) with company match.
• PTO, including vacation, personal days, and 9 company holidays.
• Continuing education and professional growth opportunities.
• Employee product discounts (and free hats).
• Travel and expense reimbursement.
