ERS-Power Study Electrical Engineer - Multiple Locations

Electrical Reliability Services, a rapidly growing third‑party, NETA‑accredited electrical testing company, is currently seeking a Power Systems Engineer to support our service offerings nationally. This position works remotely, requiring up to 25% travel. Responsibilities Support all types of power systems, typically working with a Sr. Power Systems Engineer to support project scope. Perform short circuit analysis, protective device coordination, and arc flash studies. Assist other engineers with all types of power systems and engineering studies. Assist in the gathering of field data and documentation as needed. Support the full range of complex engineering studies, including reliability, harmonics, load flow, and reliability‑centered maintenance studies. Assist with electrical power system documentation, including system configuration, equipment ratings, and settings. May support circuit and system measurements and help write reports relating to EMF, electrical load, voltage, and power quality projects. Assist in the preparation of estimates and take‑offs for engineering study project proposals. Gain a working knowledge of computer software and data utilized in the conduct of power systems and engineering studies and arrange training for others as needed. Follow and assist in the development of policy and procedures for conducting power system and engineering studies. Qualifications Graduate Engineer (BSEE) or equivalent. Must have taken and passed the FE exam or pass the FE exam within 12 months of hire date. Excellent verbal and writing skills to communicate effectively with clients, field engineers, peers, and management. Mature judgment and responsible for assigned projects. High degree of organizational skills. Solid grounding in electrical engineering. Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work. Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear. Frequently required to sit and work at the computer; specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, basic color differentiation, and the ability to adjust focus. Valid Driver’s License. Physical Requirements Light lifting (5–25 lbs.) Medium lifting (30–45 lbs.) Heavy lifting (over 50 lbs.) Frequent standing, kneeling / crawling / stooping, bending / twisting. Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders) and driving (car, van, truck). Environmental Demands Extreme cold (below 32°F) and extreme heat (above 100°F). Noise level: medium / high, may require shouting to be heard. Work around moving machinery (fork‑lifts, tractors). Protective equipment required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.). Work outdoors with no effective protection from weather.
