About the Position

Job Title: MedSurg RN Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years of MedSurg and ED experience, must have charge experience License: State nursing license required Certifications: BLS ACLS PALS TNCC Must-Have: One year of MedSurg and ED experience Charge Nurse experience Ability to titrate drips Experience with tele monitoring Description: This position is for a MedSurg RN in an acute care setting. The unit has a total of 22 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 4 for acute patients and 1 to 6 for swing bed patients. RNs on this unit will be responsible for reading telemetry strips. Common patient diagnoses include various medical and surgical conditions. Nurse aides are available to assist with patient care on this unit. RNs may be required to float to the ED and may also work in a charge nurse capacity. Weekends are required every other week, and holidays will also be required on an alternating basis. The position will involve a flex time schedule. All RNs must hold current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC. The charting system used in the unit is MatrixCare. Candidates must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule, and cannot have worked permanently or PRN within the last 12 months.
