Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Clinical Decision Unit night shift position in Hermitage, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and ACLS certification. Requirements Active TN or Compact RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start) NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU RNs Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or progressive care RN experience Strong critical thinking skills with EKG rhythm interpretation ability Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips required Experience with BiPAPs, high-flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems required Experience with stroke and post-cardiac cath patient care required Peripheral IV skills required US SSN and date of birth required for consideration One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri) No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Responsibilities Located in a hospital-based PCU/Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) serving a progressive care patient population Unit spans two cost centers: dept 630 (34 beds) and dept 633 (25 beds) Patient ratios are 1:4–1:5 on days and 1:5–1:6 on nights Tech support available: 3 techs when full on dept 630 and 2 techs when full on dept 633 Equipment used includes BiPAPs, high-flow O2, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis equipment, and wound vacs EMR system is Meditech Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week Every other weekend requirement Floating may be required between PCU units or to med-surg floors 13-week contract Procedures performed on the unit include peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting Peritoneal dialysis experience is preferred but not required Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tubes is preferred Patient experience standards include hourly rounding on days, every-2-hour rounding on nights, AIDET communication practices, and communication board maintenance Unit uses self-scheduling with 4-week schedule blocks Black scrubs required Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible The unit has a strong teamwork and family-like culture; many travelers extend their contracts after their first assignment on the PCU Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-706964 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr
