JUNIOR-LEVEL CIVIL ENGINEER

Marais is seeking a Civil Engineer. As a junior-level Civil Engineer, you will be involved in the planning, design, and construction of residential, commercial, and public projects with a focus on green infrastructure and drainage design. You will work under senior designers and assist with the development of construction documents (e.g., calculations, technical specifications, drawings) and construction oversight/administration. The ideal candidate will be open to developing creative designs and solutions with sustainability in mind and have the ability to design a project from start to finish. The ideal candidate will also be able to draft and compile a set of construction documents, calculations, specifications, and design reports. Marais believes in the importance of work-life balance and we are currently operating on a 4-½ day work week schedule. WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES 3+ years of experience in Civil Engineering. Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field. Knowledge and experience of civil engineering concepts, principles and practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Enthusiastic and self-motivated. Work well within a multidisciplinary team. Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software. Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD). Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel. EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE PE license or ability to acquire it within 2 years. Experience with grading and drainage design. Experience with Arc GIS. Experience with PCSWMM or other modeling programs.
