SDC CE Infrastructure Specialist

Salary: $71,004 - 130,320 per year Requirements:

• We need nine years of experience in data center operations or a comparable facility, with a bachelors degree in construction management, industrial maintenance, a related field, or a certificate program able to substitute for up to four years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Within that background, we need three years of hands-on experience in critical environment infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, generator, and fire suppression systems, with practical day-to-day operational knowledge.
• We need two years of experience applying basic OSHA and WISHA rules, along with workplace safety and injury prevention practices in office and data center settings.
• We need strong written and verbal communication skills.
• We need proficiency with Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and Visio.

• Preferred candidates will have experience supervising staff and contractors supporting data center critical environments.
• Preferred candidates will have a track record of leading major projects to upgrade or implement critical environment equipment and infrastructure.
• Preferred candidates will have data center facility construction project management experience.

• We develop and maintain DCIM-based plans for equipment power as hardware needs are identified and forecasted, ensuring standards are met and capacity limits are not exceeded.
• We coordinate with the Space Management team to ensure all required calendar items, including work plans, power configurations, access, and installation or decommissioning notifications, are accurately entered, followed, and documented.
• We plan and oversee hardware installations for customers moving equipment into the Olympia State Data Center and Quincy Data Center.
• We coordinate installation work for internal Critical Environment staff and support the installation and removal of data processing hardware as needed.
• We provide tactical data to support acquisition planning.
• We lead and monitor all Critical Environment Moves, Adds, and Changes to ensure work meets standards and is completed as planned.
• We request and evaluate vendor quotes for repairs required to keep the data centers operating.
• We respond promptly to incidents and take appropriate action to reduce damage and prevent costly repairs.
• We serve as the primary contact for scheduling preventive maintenance and service-call activities.
