Interpreter/Translator
Assist school staff, non-English-speaking parents, and students with communication by providing oral and written translations between English and another language. This includes translating during conferences, assessments, and emergencies, as well as handling written materials like school notifications, progress reports, and parent correspondence.
Duties may include providing oral interpretation between English and another language during meetings or conferences, student assessments, phone calls, testing, information exchanges with other school districts, and emergency situations.
Translates written documents between English and another language.
Assists non-English-speaking students and their families with the school enrollment process.
Serves as a liaison between the school district and cultural/language-specific community groups and organizations.
Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Demonstrated fluency in both English and another language; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Essential Job Functions:
- Requires the ability to speak both English and another language fluently to convey or exchange information.
- Requires the ability to read and comprehend various documents in both English and another language.
- Requires the ability to write accurately and effectively in both English and another language.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Considerable knowledge of both English and the target language.
- Proficiency in translating spoken words at a normal speaking rate between English and the target language.
- Ability to translate verbal messages into written form and vice versa.
- Ability to adapt language complexity based on the understanding level of students and parents.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the school community.
- Ability to demonstrate respect while adhering to strict confidentiality policies, and uphold professionalism to maintain a positive work ethic.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of students and staff.
$25 per hour
