Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, including every other weekend and floating between departments as needed.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients in the antepartum, intrapatum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of Obstetrical care. The RN will utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This position requires demonstrating critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the planning and delivery of safe patient care.

• Monitor and assist laboring patients throughout the delivery process.
• Communicate effectively with providers and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections.
• Perform triage on patients at 20 weeks and above.
• Attend deliveries and support newborn resuscitation efforts.
• Recover patients post vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Provide care to antepartum patients requiring labor and delivery support.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Completion of at least 2 prior travel assignments in Labor & Delivery.
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• Experience with CPN and Cerner EMR systems preferred.
• Must be able to pass an EKG.
