REMOTE Azure Architect

Job Description One of our top clients in the defense space is seeking an experienced and motivated Cloud Architectto join their corporate Infrastructure Services team to focus on Public Cloud infrastructure solutions within AWS and Azure. As part of the Cloud Center of Excellence, they will partner with application teams to help with implementations and troubleshooting, understanding environments, provide direction and feedback on solution implementations, how cloud services can best be leveraged to meet teams availability and recovery objectives. In this role you will be responsible to increase cloud adoption, automation and better use of cloud services so that the application teams can best benefit from our Cloud Service Providers.

• Partner with applications owners and architects to design, implement, and document solutions that comply with strategic enterprise architecture and guidelines in terms of a business, information, and technical standpoint
• Translate organizational level business requirements and use cases into IT/IS infrastructure capabiities verified to meet the project requirements
• Assist in updating architecture models as business needs evolve and additional cloud services become available
• Participate in optimizing solution architectures to manage cloud costs and identify cost control mechanisms
• Evangelize DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, automated continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)

• Minimum of 6 years' experience Azure Architect (Not DevOps)
• Technical understanding Cloud and infrastructure services, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, and on-premise networking, servers and storage
• Hands-on experience with any of the following DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Git, Jenkins or Kubernetes) with an "Automation First" attitude
• Experience with ERP/SAP deployments
• Knowledge in Defense Contracting and/or Aerospace industry
• VMware based software defined datacenter, including server, storage and network virtualization -- using traditional, converged and hyper-converged infrastructure, and Private Cloud automation
• Agile/SAFe software development methodologies and tools
• Various database technologies (SQLServer, MYSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and data interchange formats (XML, JSON)
• Container technologies such as Docker, AKS/EKS, or OpenShift
• Suse 15.x, Windows Server 2019/2022 Redhat 8.x/9.x, including authentication and access control, image management, patching, hardening & group policy, clustering, IIS/Apache, and other core services
