Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift hospital position requiring NBRC certification and treating both adult and pediatric patients.

  • Hospital-based Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit
  • \n
  • Adult and pediatric patient populations
  • \n
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • \n
  • Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday) required
  • \n
  • Floats between PICU, Emergency Department, and Adult Critical Care, with potential for additional units based on skill set and hospital needs
  • \n
  • EPIC charting system used
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active RRT certification required
  • \n
  • BLS required
  • \n
  • NBRC certification required
  • \n
  • Active New Jersey license required, if applicable
  • \n
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred (may be obtained onsite)
  • \n
  • Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
  • \n
  • PICU/NICU experience highly preferred
  • \n
  • Proficient in blood gas collection, ventilator initiation and management, BiPAP and high-flow therapy initiation and management, chest physiotherapy, and code response
  • \n
  • Experience with Servo-I, Servo-U, and V60 BiPAP equipment preferred
  • \n
  • Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
  • \n
  • Experience with oxygen therapy delivery methods including bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula, and trach collar
  • \n
  • Ventilator management skills including weaning from mechanical ventilation and troubleshooting alarms
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Responsibilities include in-house patient transport, medication administration, and code response
  • \n
  • Works across critical care and emergency settings as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • \n
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • \n
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • \n
  • Former employees of the health system must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • \n
  • Time off requests must be submitted and approved prior to offer
  • \n
