Location: Rahway, NJ 07065 Work Arrangement: Onsite Employment Type: Contract (No Overtime) Duration: 6+ months Pay Range: $38.71/hr. to $40.00/hr. on W2 | $46.43/hr. to $52.00/hr. on C2C SKILLS REQUIRED Primary (Must-Have): Lab System Lifecycle Management: Extensive experience overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of laboratory systems, including onboarding, configuration, off-boarding, and decommissioning. Vendor Management: Proven capability acting as the primary point of contact for external vendors, coordinating hardware/software maintenance, issue resolution, and tracking SLAs. Regulated Environment & Business Processes: Deep understanding of laboratory workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and strict compliance requirements within GxP (GLP/GMP) and FDA-regulated pharmaceutical settings. System Maintenance & Administration: Hands-on experience with regular standalone/benchtop system backups, data restoration, monthly patching coordination, LAC/E configuration, and instrument integration platforms (e.g., HPLC, GC, spectrophotometers). Identity & Access Management: Direct experience handling local/application user management activities, including user creation, profile modifications, and deletions. Secondary (Good to Have): ITS&M & Quality Processes: Strong knowledge of ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.) and Quality Management Processes, including Problem, Deviation, Change, and CAPA Management. Computer System Validation (CSV): Functional familiarity with CSV principles, SDLC frameworks, data integrity standards, and audit trail maintenance. Cross-functional IT Coordination: Experience collaborating with local Desktop Support and network infrastructure teams for physical hardware and PC maintenance. POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking an elite Senior Lab System Support Engineer with a strong blend of IT capability and scientific application knowledge to support critical laboratory operations on-site in Rahway, NJ. Serving as a crucial bridge between laboratory analysts, QA, and corporate IT functions, the senior engineer will ensure maximum uptime, compliance, and optimized performance of analytical instruments and data workflows. This role is highly suited for a seasoned professional with deep industry experience who can independently manage system administration, execute technical validation alignment, and confidently provide audit-readiness support within a heavily regulated pharmaceutical environment. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lifecycle & System Operations: Manage end-to-end laboratory system lifecycles, leading onboarding/off-boarding activities, regular application software upgrades on standalone systems, and monthly system patching coordination. Hands-On Support & Troubleshooting: Provide critical first-level "hands and feet" engineering support to resolve software and hardware complexities related to lab instruments such as HPLC, GC, and spectrophotometers, as well as managing LAC/E configurations. Vendor & Hardware Coordination: Act as the technical liaison for external vendors during system failures, hardware installations, and routine maintenance, while partnering internally with desktop teams for PC/Network fixes. Data Integrity & Continuity: Execute routine, structured backups and data restorations for standalone and benchtop systems, safeguarding critical analytical data trails and aligning workflows with data archival processes. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all systems are meticulously maintained in accordance with existing SOPs and validation protocols. Actively author and update technical Work Instructions (WIs) and SOPs to preserve a compliant state. Audit & Quality Management: Champion ITSM processes by handling ticket resolution via tracking systems, documenting deviations, supporting CAPA compliance, and serving as the primary subject matter expert for Lab IT during regulatory audits.
