Experienced in sales or retail (luxury experience is a major plus). Key Responsibilities Drives sales and contributes to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories, and services. Promotes the Design program and assists the designer to achieve established sales goals. Consistently executes the La-Z-Boy selling process and strives to provide a favorable experience to all customers. Develops and utilizes sales skills and principles, including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized portfolio presentations, objection handling, closing, follow‑up, after‑sale service, and continuous contact with customers. Maximizes store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs. Maintains strong knowledge of the features and benefits of existing and new product lines. Schedules professional home consultations to present customized room designs, sample fabrics, furniture, tables, and accessory recommendations, and promotes professional installation services. Executes and champions the design process following established company guidelines and supports design‑related functions in the store. Provides the highest level of customer service; ensures each customer has an informative and positive experience using product knowledge and the company selling process. Uses Podium to ensure customer satisfaction and future follow‑up. Makes sound business decisions to deliver customer satisfaction and promote a team environment. Provides support by responding to incoming phone calls and emails. Assists in handling customer issues and/or complaints and provides appropriate solutions. Maintains positive relationships with all store employees; trains, coaches, and develops peers on product knowledge and selling skills to achieve store sales goals. Promotes and champions a culture of sales and service. Assists with maintenance of the store’s visual appearance, displays, tagging, accessory catalogs, design center fabrics, floor moves, and general store cleanliness. Accurately completes order information, collects deposits and fees, keeps orderly customer records, and researches customer payments and deliveries. Completes daily On‑Point system logs accurately. Shows a sense of urgency, enthusiasm, and excitement with the store team and customers. Maintains adequate knowledge of company standards, product knowledge, and internal processes and systems. Consistently schedules deliveries with customers. Is responsible for opening and closing of the store. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Previous selling experience and ability to close a sale preferred. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and positively influence. Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills. Ability to manage time and conflicting priorities effectively. Ability to work productively with others as a team. Ability to work the schedule and hours dictated by business needs. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Initiative to meet assigned goals and objectives. Strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Nearly continuous repetitive hand motions; hearing and listening required. Often required to sit, walk, bend, and stoop. Working in an indoor environment with temperature and lighting controls.
