Floral Associate

Floral Associate – Part‑Time – Dierbergs Markets Floristry associates care for flowers and plants in the department while creating floral arrangements in a timely manner with thought, style, and expertise. Their creativity flourishes and they can carry out a variety of responsibilities: Receive, sort and rotate cut flowers, bouquets, and arrangements Promote merchandise and use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs Create simple corsages, boutonnieres, and floral arrangements Operate cash register and computer systems while processing all forms of payment (gift cards, checks, credits, debits, and floral charges) Process customer orders for in‑store purchases and delivery Accurately convey orders taken in writing to designers Arrange store merchandise to showcase flowers, plants, and gifts Use equipment such as knife, helium tank, foliage stripper, shears, sealer gun, hot glue gun, etc. Keep work area sanitary using company‑approved cleaners and equipment Essentials Minimum age 16 Ability to work in varying temperature‑controlled environments (36‑degree cooler) and tolerate high pollen and seed‑spore environments Basic math and computer skills Read basic information such as company policies and procedures Maintain a safe and clean work area using company‑approved equipment Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays Prompt and regular attendance based on your schedule Adherence to dress code, appearance, and personal hygiene standards Ability to work independently May be cross‑trained in other departments Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally Push or pull up to 20 lbs force occasionally Occasional tasks: sit, kneel, stoop, squat, climb, reach overhead, power grip Frequent tasks: stand, walk, head turn, side reach, pinch, finger manipulation, feel Constant tasks: forward reach and handling Benefits Weekly paychecks Medical insurance, 401(k), pension plan, and paid time off – even for part‑time associates Automatic scheduled pay increases to reward performance Work/life balance and flexible scheduling Training and growth opportunities to help you reach career goals Wellness initiatives, associate appreciation and volunteer opportunities Foundational Values Embody and BE the following: Be Connected, Be Curious, Be Courageous, Be Caring, Be People‑Centric, Be a Contributor, Be a Cultivator, and in all you do, Be YOU!
