• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the needs and strengths of students with special needs.

• Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans that focus on mental wellness, emotional growth, and effective integration into the school community.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique challenges faced by students with ASD, ADHD, and other mental health concerns.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to support emotional regulation, personal growth, and coping strategies.

• Collaborate with educators, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to each student's care.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support in mental health emergencies.
\n
• Educate students and their families about mental health issues and available resources, promoting understanding and encouraging proactive engagement in their care.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards to ensure continuity of care and effective treatment tracking.

• Participate actively in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development opportunities to enhance service delivery and personal skill development.

• Stay up-to-date with current mental health practices, regulations, and ethical standards to provide the best care possible.

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse range of youth experiencing various mental health disorders. Your expertise will directly impact students dealing with ASD, emotional and behavioral disorders, and trauma. By employing a trauma-informed care approach, you will help students navigate their challenges, equipping them with the tools they need for academic and social success.

• Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
\n
• Current and valid LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW-R licensure in New York State.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience preferred.
\n
• Solid understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and trauma-informed practices.
\n
• Proficiency in conducting mental health assessments, diagnosing conditions, and establishing treatment plans.
\n
• Experience in providing both individual and group therapy with a variety of therapeutic methodologies.
\n
• Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to respecting professional boundaries and ethics.
\n
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficient computer skills.
\n
• Ability to thrive within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Applicants with prior experience working in educational settings or with children and adolescents facing mental health challenges will be prioritized. Knowledge of New York State regulations related to mental health services in educational contexts is highly beneficial.
