Industrial Pipe Finishing Technician (Welding Support)

Join a local, fast-growing manufacturing shop and support our welders by preparing pipe to exacting standards.

A day in the role

Your shift kicks off at 5:00 a.m. You set up your work area, prep cleaning solutions, and move straight into pipe preparation. Most of your day is spent at the grinders, shaping and smoothing surfaces so welds go on clean. You’ll rotate between solution-based pipe cleaning and precision grinding, keeping production flowing until wrap-up at 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

What you’ll do

• Clean pipe using appropriate solutions to remove contaminants prior to welding.
• Grind pipe to specified finish and tolerances; approximately 75% of the job is grinding.
• Operate and maintain shop grinding equipment to support consistent throughput.

• Surface Grinder
• Manual Grinder

Schedule, environment, and pay

• Hours: 5:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday
• Overtime: Significant overtime is part of this role
• Work setting: Non–climate-controlled manufacturing environment
• Compensation: $17–$18 per hour
