As the Commercial Sales Director, you will be responsible for the functions outlined below.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
  • Advance the mission of Honoring God and Defending Freedom.
  • Build and enable a positive culture across the commercial sales team.
  • Drive demand generation across a national customer base.
  • Work with Revenue Leadership peers to drive profitable market share advancement across all functions.
  • Build and execute sales strategies that enable the commercial team to achieve business plan annually.
  • Set sales quotas, manage sales support staff and representatives, and advise Daniel Defense management about sales performance.
  • Check and adjust sales strategy in collaboration with the Chief Revenue Officer to drive optimal execution of the team.
  • Train, supervise, and direct the daily activities of sales representatives and sales staff.
  • Lead the commercial team to deliver on Daniel Defenses sales policies, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Recommend product enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Maintain and manage strong relationships with customers and partners.
  • Analyze sales statistics to evaluate goals, determine sales potential and inventory requirements, and monitor customer preferences.
  • Set relevant KPIs that ensure clarity across the sales team.
  • Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors while working in close collaboration with Marketing.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing Daniel Defense standards.
  • Participates in the companys efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
  • Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment.
  • Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelors degree with 5+ years of managerial experience; or a combination of related experience, education, and/or training to sufficiently and successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Proven experience leading a national sales team with a complex and broad customer base.
  • Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
  • Ability to communicate at the executive and individual contributor level.
  • Strong presentation skills to large and small audiences.
  • Teamwork and the ability to collaborate effectively is essential.
  • Must be able to manage time efficiently and use sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail and record-keeping ability.
  • Self-motivated and willing to put in extra effort as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively across the team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and identify and address problems proactively.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage and stay within budget.
  • Strong technical skills including building and analyzing sales reporting.
  • Travel requirements: 20 to 25% of the year.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in accordance with our Company Values.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the workday, including extensively at trade shows and meetings.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
