Associate Manufacturing - Nights In this vital role you will join a team of manufacturing associates that leverage adaptability, agility, teamwork, and curiosity. The Manufacturing Associate I at Amgen supports the production process by operating equipment, maintaining production records, and adhering to safety and quality standards. What You Will Do The Associate Manufacturing is a hands‑on role in one of the two manufacturing facilities on site at Amgen Rhode Island. Candidates will join either the AR5 team, focused on high‑volume production, or the AR30 team, focused on operational readiness and start‑up. The onboarding phase lasts 2–6 weeks on an administrative schedule (Monday–Friday, 8‑5). After onboarding, the role shifts to a 12‑hour night shift (7 pm–7 am), rotating two weeks at a time covering seven days a week, with a 15% shift differential and premium pay for Sundays. Shift patterns include 14 days on per month with every other weekend off. Responsibilities Include Perform operations in the manufacturing area under general supervision. Operate equipment and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Perform and monitor critical processes, complete validation protocols, and draft and revise documents such as Manufacturing Procedures, SOPs, and technical reports. Basic troubleshooting and documentation review for assigned functions. Participate in cross‑functional teams and represent the manufacturing teams. Own deviations/CAPA. Identify, recommend, and implement improvements related to routine functions. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. What We Expect Of You We are all different, and we value unique contributions. Basic Qualifications High school/GED + 2 years of manufacturing or operations work experience, OR Associate’s degree + 6 months of manufacturing or operations work experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Internship or academic project experience in Manufacturing, Biotech, Medical Devices, or related industries. Mechanical competence and willingness to learn equipment operation and troubleshooting. Familiarity with computerized systems or automation tools (experience with HMIs is a plus). Basic understanding of GMP and regulatory guidelines. Foundational knowledge of biotechnology processes such as cell culture, purification, or aseptic techniques. Ability to follow written procedures and safety protocols. Strong interest in learning about manufacturing systems, lab equipment, and quality standards. Basic data analysis or statistical skills; comfortable working with Excel and other MS Office tools. Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with guidance. Clear communication skills, both written and verbal. Positive attitude, eager to contribute, and a team player. Demonstrated ability to adapt in dynamic environments and take initiative in problem‑solving.
