Lecturer – College of Arts & Media / Visual Arts Department – Illustration The University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus seeks individuals with a demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive learning and working environment. Responsibilities Teach foundation level drawing to advanced levels in Illustration using traditional and digital media processes. Serve part‑time (less than 50%) and teach no more than two courses per semester, with appointments on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Prepare and deliver course materials, facilitate learning, assess student work, and maintain academic standards. Participate in departmental activities as required. Support Received This position reports to the Visual Arts Department and the area head of the Painting/Drawing program. Salary and Benefits The salary range is $5,150 per 3‑credit semester course. Qualifications Exceptional knowledge of the history of art, contemporary art, illustration, and design. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively. Advanced communication and self‑promotion skills in print and social media. Strong skills in teaching graphic applications and ability to teach perspective, figure drawing, and sequential drawing (storyboards and graphic novels). 2–3 years of professional practice in illustration. Strong facility with graphic applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Ability to teach and work with a diverse student body. Minimum Requirements MFA degree in studio art, design, or illustration, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of professional experience in design. Preferred Qualifications 2–3 years of college‑level teaching experience. 3–5 years of professional illustration experience.
