Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care within a designated shift. The nurse will assess patient conditions, implement nursing care aligned with medical plans, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This role involves patient education, discharge planning, and delegating aspects of care to other nursing staff based on current competencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability for a group of patients during the designated shift.
• Prescribe nursing care based on the nursing process and input from patients and significant others.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care delivery for various age groups.
• Incorporate teaching and discharge planning needs into the overall plan of care.
• Delegate certain aspects of patient care to nursing staff, considering their competencies and legal scope of practice.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Experience in an acute care facility is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification at time of hire is required.
• Competency in Dysrhythmia must be demonstrated during Orientation, with exceptions for specific departments.
• Additional certifications may be required depending on the assigned unit, such as PALS for Emergency Department staff or Neonatal Resuscitation for Perinatal nurses.

Additional Requirements

• At least two years of recent nursing experience in the field.
• Current BLS certification and nursing license per the state of assignment are mandatory.
• Specialty-specific requirements will be communicated separately.
