Daily Responsibilities for a Pediatric Neonatologist
\n The Pediatric Neonatologist is responsible for:

\n

\n
• Evaluating and treating patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
\n
• Adhering, contributing, and developing clinical patient pathways to ensure a standardized approach to neonatal medicine.
\n
• Rounding with a Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) on NICU patients, as well as supervising the APP’s attending high-risk deliveries.
\n
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost-effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
\n
• Act as attending consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization, depending on the needs of patients, medical staff, and hospital.
\n
• Be the primary educator for the pediatric residents.
\n
• Providing appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
\n
• Participating in inpatient rounds and providing appropriate hand-off to the next team.
\n
• Establishing an outpatient NICU graduate clinic program.
\n

Requirements for the Neonatologist

\n

\n
• MD or DO
\n
• Board-certified/eligible in Pediatric Neonatology
\n
• Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical license and DEA
\n
• Completed ACGME Training
\n
