RN-Registered Nurse // Emergency Department Weekly stipend: $1,246. Pay rate: $15–$17 per hour. Base pay: $600–$680 weekly. Onsite contract, 8 weeks. Work hours: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week. Job Details Department: Emergency Services Specialty: Emergency Room Location: Plaquemine, LA 70764 Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Mid Shift, 8 Hour, 11:45–00:15 Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Experience Required: 2+ years in a nursing role. Certifications RN license in the state of practice BLS certification from the American Heart Association CPI Certification (valid for 12 months) ACLS certification from the American Heart Association PALS certification from the American Heart Association NRP certification Preferred: Certification in clinical specialty area KSAs Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self‑directed. Ability to demonstrate good judgement. Good interpersonal skills. Job Duties Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care. Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other disciplines. Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources properly and serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes. Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the profession of nursing. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, refining introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures, requesting permissions, and communication style. Performs other related duties as required. Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility. Ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and standards. Reports any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors and concerns related to patient/employee safety, privacy, or compliance. Physical and Environmental Demands Exerting 50–100 pounds of force occasionally, or 25–50 pounds frequently, or 10–20 pounds constantly to move objects. Regular exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and potential communicable diseases. Occupational risk for hazardous medications or hazardous waste. Physical demands exceed those of sedentary work.
