Assistant Football Coach – Fall 2026–2027 School Year Job ID: 2843 Location: David Brearley High School Date Available: 09/01/2026 Closing Date: 08/24/2026 Qualifications & Responsibilities Valid NJDOE Instructional Certificate or County Substitute Certificate requiring a minimum of thirty (30) college credits, as applicable. Prior coaching, athletic, or extracurricular experience preferred. Strong knowledge of the sport/activity, including rules, safety procedures, skill development, and age‑appropriate coaching practices. Ability to supervise students in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and participation. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and administration. Availability to attend practices, games, competitions, events, and/or activities during the assigned season. Must possess or obtain CPR certification, complete Sports First Aid, and complete required components of the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status. Reports To Supervisor of Student Discipline, Athletics, & Special Projects Terms of Employment Stipend rate of $8,490 in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Not eligible for comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision), paid sick/personal leave accruals, enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF), or Public Employees’ Retirement System.
