Electrician Mechanic / Foreman

The Electrician Mechanic / Foreman is responsible for overseeing electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities while leading a team of electricians on commercial, industrial, or residential projects. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable electrical codes, company policies, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, motors, controls, and wiring.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical drawings, and specifications.
• Plan and assign work to crew members to meet project schedules and deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, National Electrical Code (NEC), and company safety procedures.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks of completed work.
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and workforce requirements.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Communicate project status, progress, and potential issues to project managers and clients.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to maintain productivity and workmanship standards.
• Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, work orders, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred.
• 5+ years of electrical experience with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of NEC codes, electrical systems, and construction practices.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment and hand/power tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Work in industrial, commercial, and outdoor environments.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with industrial machinery, motor controls, PLCs, and automation systems.
• Project scheduling and workforce management experience.
• Ability to estimate labor and material requirements.
• Experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
