Requirements

• Master's degree required
• Speech & Language Pathologist license required
• Certificate of Clinical Competence required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
• Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluative and therapeutic procedures as directed by a physician or healthcare provider.
• Evaluate residents and establish therapeutic plans including functional goals.
• Consult with other healthcare team members regarding therapeutic and discharge needs.
• Document all evaluative and therapeutic interactions in accordance with department procedures.
• Recommend and assist with communication/swallowing assistive devices.
• Maintain clinical knowledge and competence, sharing expertise with staff and providing education.
