1. HOURS OF OPERATION:
   1. Duty Hours : The contractor will provide 1.0 FTEE Medical Instrument Technologist/EEG technologist to as required. Normal clinical hours are 0700 - 1530 or 0730 -1600 but there may be some flexibility and opportunity for overtime work fter hours and rare weekend days. The contractor's employees are subject to varying work hours depending on staffing needs and may be revised as deemed appropriate by the Department Director. The Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) or supervisor will provide technical directions on specific tour of duty.

The contractor shall provide Electroencephalography (EEG) Technicians operate the electroencephalograph and related devices such as evoked potential equipment to record electrical activity of the brain. Registration is offered by the American Board of Registration of EEG, CNIM and EP Technologists (ABRET) or the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Techs

1. Staff/Facility

1. License - The Contractor's employees assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract shall have a full, current and unrestricted license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property.

All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Contractor's employees who have current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.

1. Credentialing and Privileging -Credentialing and privileging is to be done in accordance with the provisions of VHA Handbook 1100.19 referenced above utilizing VetPro. The Contractor is responsible to ensure that proposed employees possess the requisite credentials enabling the granting of privileges. No services shall be provided by any contractor's employees prior to obtaining approval by the PVAHCS Professional Standards Board, Medical Executive Board and Medical Center Director. Contractor shall allow a minimum of 60 calendar days for review of credentials by the VA Professional Standards Board and the Director or his/her designer.
2. The Technician's duties include :
   1. Independently performs routine and non-standard procedures. (EEG and EP). These include Awake, Sleep, Portable, and ECS.
   2. Independently perform routine and specialized procedures.
   3. Independently perform routine long-term monitoring, LTM/CCTV - EEG monitoring. These include extended 10/20 electrode placement.
   4. Performs as expert EEG technologist, maintaining state of the art quality in the principles, practices and procedures associated with Electroencephalography.
   5. If contractor's employees is/are not credentialed and privileged or have credentials/privileges suspended or revoked, the Contractor shall furnish an acceptable substitute without any additional cost to the government.
   6. Consistently performs high quality studies for complex and non-routine procedures in difficult and demanding environments such as the operating room, research or intensive care environments.
   7. The contractor's employees will be required to report specific patient outcome information, such as complications to the Service Line Chief. Quality improvement data provided by the employees and/or collected by the Service will be used to analyze individual practice patterns. The Service Chief will utilize the data to formulate recommendations for the Professional Standards Board to consider in the renewal of clinical privileges.
   8. All testing performed requires on-line analysis by the technologist to obtain the necessary data for correct diagnosis of the patient.
   9. In all procedures the incumbent works closely with the physicians from Neurology Service and the Epilepsy Center of Excellence.
   10. The incumbent is able to utilize sophisticated equipment and associated electronics to obtain continuous video-EEG monitoring in patients with undiagnosed spells,
   11. The incumbent will interface with company representatives and will be familiar with new techniques. The incumbent must be able to perform procedures independently but works under the direction of the Director, Epilepsy Centers of Excellence or his designee.
   12. Follows established laboratory and/or hospital guidelines in completing "administrative duties" for each test performed.
   13. Knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory requirements.
   14. Partly responsible for inventory of laboratory supplies.
3. Technical Proficiency - Contractor's employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d). Contractor shall provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, refuse skills, certification and/or licensure related to the provision of care, treatment and/or services performed. Contractors shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational history for all contractor's employees and contractor's employees shall be responsible for abiding by the Facility's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations (referenced herein) that govern medical staff behavior.
4. Continuing Medical Education (CME)/ Certified Education Unit (CEU) Requirements : Contractor shall provide the COR copies of current CEUs as required or requested by the PVAHCS. Contractor's employees continuing education units (CEUs) must be recognized by ACPE, or as required by the licensing authority by which the employee is licensed to remain current . Contractor shall report CEU hours to the credentials office for tracking. These documents are required for both privileging and re-privileging. Failure to provide shall result in loss of privileges for contractor's employees.
5. Training (ACLS, BLS, CPRS and VA MANDATORY) : Contractor shall meet all VA educational requirements and mandatory course requirements defined herein; all training must be completed by the contractor's employees as required by the VA.

All Nurses must have certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by an American Health Association vendor. Personnel must be able to demonstrate competence in providing CPR and have current basic life support (BLS) certification. Critical care Nurses shall have advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
