Plate Burner

o Operate plate burning equipment to flame cut steel plate to customer specifications

o Communicate with the supervisor on shift and other crew members to ensure timely processing of customer orders

o Use the following tools: burning machines, track burners, hand torch, tape measure, striker, torch wrench, broom, shovel and pry bar

o Maintain a working knowledge of standard practice instructions

o Perform safety inspections on equipment

o Assist other crew members as needed

o Able to work in environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, and noise

o Must be able to work 12 hours per day, on any shift, any day of the week - including mandatory weekends, holidays and/or overtime

o Accurately enter data into computers

o Able to learn, retain and apply new knowledge

o Good written and oral communication skills

o Good math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, including fractions, accurate number identification

o Flexibility and willingness to learn and to accept changes in job duties

o Able to use basic hand tools: wrenches, screwdrivers, tape measure and hand torch

o Frequent walking, standing, stooping and periodic lifting up to 50 lbs.

o Successful completion of ergonomics evaluation

o Show willingness to cross train in other shipping position(s)
