Chief Financial Officer (Controller) - Trucking & Logistics

CFO / Controller – Transportation & Logistics – San Antonio, Texas (Local candidates preferred | Relocation considered)

Established trucking and logistics company seeking an experienced CFO / Controller to lead all financial and accounting operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role for a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in transportation, trucking, freight brokerage, or logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of senior‑level accounting and financial management experience, including oversight of multi‑division operations, cash flow management, banking relationships, budgeting, payroll, financial reporting, and operational cost controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting and financial functions including: financial statements & month‑end close.
• Accounts payable & receivable.
• Payroll & payroll tax reporting.
• Cash flow forecasting & treasury management.
• Banking & financing relationships.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
• Manage operational cost controls and improve financial performance.
• Support ownership with strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
• Work closely with operations, dispatch, logistics, and purchasing teams.
• Assist with contract negotiations, vendor management, and risk management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a CFO, Controller, VP of Finance, or senior accounting leader.
• Strong background in trucking, transportation, freight brokerage, logistics, or supply chain industries.
• Experience managing multi‑entity or multi‑divisional operations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and operational accounting.
• Experience with McLeod or transportation accounting systems.
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be located in San Antonio, TX or willing to relocate.
