Job Summary Job Shift: Nights Job Type: Full Time Up to $5,000 SOB for qualified candidates, paid over 24 months. A Monitor Technician is responsible for monitoring the heart rhythm pattern of patients to detect abnormal pattern variances using telemetry equipment. The technician reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm patterns, current patterns, and prior variances, observes cardiac monitors, listens for alarms, and informs the Assistant Nurse Manager and/or Registered Nurse of variances to initiate examination of the patient. Responsibilities Report for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume job responsibilities. Report to work in proper uniform or attire including ID badge worn in a visible location. Take breaks on time and return on time. Vary work schedule to meet the needs of the department. Ensure all overtime is approved by department supervisors. Schedule all time off with supervisor approval. Strictly adhere to hospital attendance policy. Attend and participate in meetings and communicate necessary information. Attend all mandatory in‑services as scheduled. Participate as an active team member at staff meetings. Read communications and respond positively. Adhere to Corporate, Regional, hospital and departmental policy and procedure. Read and comprehend the company’s Standards of Conduct; demonstrate compliance with the Ethics program. Understand that compliance with the Corporate Integrity Program is a condition of employment; violations may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Maintain confidentiality regarding patient/employee/facility/corporate information 100% of the time. Follow Infection Control procedures at all times. Clinical Personnel Strictly adhere to standard precautions by using personal protective equipment when handling blood or body fluids. Wash hands and other skin surfaces with soap and water thoroughly whenever contaminated with blood or other body fluids, and before and after patient contact. Adhere to isolation procedures and techniques at all times as applicable. Adhere to environmental care standards. Demonstrate adequate knowledge of safety policies and procedures, including the use of MSDS sheets, hazardous material procedures, and safety codes. Demonstrate adequate knowledge of security issues, including personal protection and protection of personnel and hospital property. Adapt to varied age‑specific patient populations. Qualifications Education Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalent; evidence of successful completion of a Rhythm Recognition course or evidence of successful completion of EMT or Paramedic training recognized by the State of Florida for licensure as an EMT or Paramedic. Preferred: Completion of a 12‑lead EKG course. Experience Previous Monitor Technician experience preferred. Required Certification / Licensure / Registration Current BLS Card approved by the American Heart Association (AHA). Other Qualifications Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize efficiently. Must be able to handle a multi‑task environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
