The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The start and end times may vary.This position is 1.0 FTE, 40 hours/week.ResponsibilitiesMaintains equilibrium between care of the research participant, protocol requirements and compliance.Utilizes clinical research nursing expertise and judgement to advocate for others as neededProvides nursing and clinical operations expertise to the research teamPartners with clinic nursing and study team to provide research specific patient and family education and documents appropriatelyPartners with clinic nurses to bridge patient from protocol requirements to clinical careAssists Investigators and study teams in pre-screening patients and confirming eligibilitySupports investigators and study teams in adverse event assessments and documents appropriately for protocol required data entryUnderstands CTCAE grading criteria to assist with proper documentationCommunicates and coordinates effectively with clinic nurse for symptom management, or clinical follow-up, providing the clinic nurse with all applicable protocol specific information needed for patient careAssists PI/Study team in Serious Adverse Event ReportingDocuments in EHR and includes research protocol details needed for data entry and complianceSupports investigators and study teams in reviewing and documenting concomitant medicationsReconciles protocol required medication diariesSupports research coordinators in protocol required clinic visits when research nursing support is neededSupports PI in ensuring patient safety and protocol complianceCommunicates investigational medication holds/modifications to patients as delegated by PI and within scopeFacilitates communication and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams as neededProvides research education to clinical staff as appropriateInforms investigators and study staff of institutional policies and procedures that support protocol compliance, patient safety and clinical operation's efficiencies.Identifies problems or obstacles in the systems and procedures related to research operations, and communicates to the CORS Nurse Manager and study investigators as appropriateParticipates in study required monitoring visits specific to the CRN job description when appropriateAttends Beacon orders validation meetings as appropriateQualificationsRequired:Baccalaureate degree requiredMust have current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or current NLC multistate license (MSL); and must upgrade to an MSL with primary state of residence, WA, within 60 days of hire. This requirement may be waived under specific circumstances, subject to approval.Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two yearsMinimum 3 years of recent oncology experienceDemonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary teamDemonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solvingDemonstrated process improvement mindsetAbility to successfully work to deadlines and targetsExperience in the care of oncology patientsExperience with clinical research preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Teams)Strong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred:Baccalaureate in nursing preferredMinimum of 2 years research experience preferredCertification in Oncology Nursing (OCN), BMTCN, AOCN, AOCNSThe annual base salary range for this position is from $104,458.00 to $165,089.00, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
