Recovery Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)) Bridgeway Center

Position Summary This position works with the substance use, mental health, and criminal justice population by providing detoxification, medication management, recovery counseling, mental health services, and linkage to other Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) services. This position works alongside counselors to provide individual and group counseling services, teaching strategies for living a substance free life and aiding in establishing a relapse prevention plan as part of a long-term approach to recovery. The clients served in this program have a variety of criminogenic, social, and psychiatric needs which are addressed through coordination between BCI Forensic Counselors, Case Managers, and other external agencies. The applicant selected for this position must be comfortable routinely working in a team setting and be able to manage the clients on the unit. BCI is seeking applicants for our Detox team. Applicants must have good observation skills, enthusiastic personality, ability to work well with behavioral health patients, and a true motivation to help others in the community. Recovery Nurses provide hands‑on care to patients with varying degrees of mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities. They perform a vital, front‑line function as they observe, treat, and interact with patients. They carry out the Prescribers’ orders and coordinate care and services as needed. They report back on how the treatment is working or any unusual symptoms that need professional attention. BCI Recovery Nurses take part in both the planning and implementing of patient Treatment Plans. Tasks will include interviewing patients, assisting patients with questions about their medications, make referrals to other internal BCI departments, assist Prescribers with daily tasks, and gather information to assist the Prescriber. Specific experience in psychiatric treatment is preferred. Bilingual/bicultural English and Spanish preferred (not required). Applicants must be able to pass an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background check (Clearinghouse Education and Awareness Website: National Sex Offender Registry search, Office of Inspector General (OIG) check (if you have previously worked for DCF (including Contract or Subcontract Provider)), drug screen, and Tuberculosis (TB) test. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Duties / Responsibilities Provide assistance to Providers. Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) software for patient medical record. Complete documentation within required timeframes. Monitor Substance Abuse withdrawals symptoms as well as Psychiatric progress notes for actionable items. Processes medication requests and collaborate with Prescribers. Document medication record to include any changes or revisions. Completes prior authorizations for patients as needed. Completes Outcome measures upon client admission and discharge. Work Schedule: Night Shift Three (3) – Twelve and a half (12 ½) hour shifts 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. and one (1) – two and a half (2 ½) hour shift (Optional) – Rotating weekends & holidays. Work Location Fort Walton Beach (FWB) Wage The wage for this position is $26.00 per hour. Shift Differential A shift differential allows additional compensation for associates who are scheduled to work certain shifts. The Evening shift [7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.] differential is $2.00 per hour in addition to your normal hourly wage. Holiday Incentive If required to work on a designated BCI holiday, you will receive premium pay at one and one‑half (1.5) times your regular hourly rate for all hours worked on the actual holiday.
