The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a passion for collaboration, innovation, and delivering practical, reliable, and code-compliant solutions. Success in this role requires a commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and exceptional client service.Key ResponsibilitiesDesigns electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, municipal, office buildings with backup and emergency power systems, including generators, uninterruptable power supplies, and automatic transfer switches.Designs and directs designers in the creation of building designs.Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to specifications and requirements.Uses computer assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.Designs the modeling and analysis of normal and emergency power distribution systems, the design of life safety systems, the design and modeling of lighting and associated control systems, and coordination with other design professionals.Designs lighting control systems that comply with LEED, Energy Star, and similar energy efficient programs.Make equipment and fixture selectionsPerform field investigations and site visitsServes as Engineer of Record with directing and mentoring designersDevelop construction documents and specificationsFollows the NFPA70 (NEC) and other electrical industry codes, standards and recommended practices.Healthcare Experience is requiredExperience: minimum 8 years' related experience as a licensed professionalComputer Skills: Revit, Auto CAD, MEP, MS Office Suite, Trace 3DEducation: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited)Licenses/Certifications:Current PE License (required)NCEES RegistrationLicensed in at least one U.S. stateLEED, Green Globes, or other sustainability credentials (Preferred)Travel: up to 20% depending on projectSalary Range $110-160,000KBenefitsGenerous salaryUp to five weeks of vacation (depending on experience)Medical, dental, and vision insurance with company assistanceFree Short and long-term disability insurance, Life InsuranceHSA & FSA OptionsEmployee Assistance ProgramCompany-matched 401(k)8 paid holidays with 1 Birthday floating holiday to use at your discretionProfessional license bonusesContinued educational reimbursement with manager pre-approval.Work EnvironmentThis position will be in the office in an open office work environment with flexibilityApogee does not discriminate in employment based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factors.
