Mechanical EngineerA Day in the Life at MKS: As a Mechanical Engineer at MKS Andover, you will partner with manufacturing, supply chain, applications, and customers to develop and support vacuum valves.You Will Make an Impact By:Contributing to the design and development of advanced mechanical products used across multiple industries.Collaborating with a team of product design engineers focused on vacuum valve development.Contributing to the specification development, analysis, design, 3D modeling, and creation of detailed engineering drawings for new products and assemblies.Partnering directly with customers and applications engineers to understand application requirements and develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.Using analysis tools such as Solidworks Simulation, Comsol, or Ansys to perform stress and motion analysis.Working closely with engineering teams to prototype, test, and improve product designs.Collaborating with manufacturing and operations teams throughout the product development, launch, and scale-up to volume production to ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable.Participating in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including concept development, feasibility validation, design, prototyping, testing, and production release.Ensuring all products meet quality standards, performance expectations, and regulatory requirements through thorough testing, validation, and design verification processes.Skills You Bring:Bachelor of Science, or Masters of Science in Engineering.8 or more years of relevant work experience.Experience with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks)Experience with manual and FEA stress analysisComputational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) ModelingExperience with Vacuum TechnologyExperience with mechanical fabrication techniques (machining, welding, brazing, sheet metal)Knowledge of Engineering Change Order ProcessTechnical experience in product development and manufacturing.Strong communication and teamwork skillsPreferred Skills:Experience Semiconductor manufacturing equipmentExperience with high vacuum sealing technologyMagnetics ModelingKnowledge of Vacuum sealing technologies and materialsPhysical Demands & Working Conditions:Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination. Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 30 pounds. Ability to remain in a stationary position for 90% of the time. Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level. Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information. Operates in a professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing environment. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery. Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat.
