Strategic Staffing Solutions has an immediate hybrid ( 3 days in office) contract role in Baton Rouge, LA for a Technical Product Owner w/ AI & Machine Learning experience in the healthcare industry.

Role Summary

The Technical Product Owner (AI & Machine Learning) – Contract provides execution and delivery support for defined Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) initiatives. This role operates under the direction of an internal Product Owner, Data Science Manager, or designated business lead and interfaces with business stakeholders in a coordination and facilitation capacity.

The position is focused on translating approved business and technical requirements into actionable backlog items, supporting agile delivery processes, and enabling successful execution of AI/ML initiatives. The role does not include ownership of product strategy, enterprise prioritization, governance authority, budget accountability, or long-term product ownership responsibilities,

Required Experience & Skills

• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or similar iterative delivery framework
• Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning concepts, and model lifecycle management practices
• Experience supporting Product Owner, Product Management, Business Analysis, or delivery-focused product functions within technical, analytics, data, or software development environments
• Experience supporting Program Increment (PI) Planning, release planning, or equivalent multi-sprint planning activities using Azure DevOps (ADO) Boards. Working knowledge of cloud platforms, data engineering concepts, and modern data ecosystems. Experience creating and managing user stories, acceptance criteria, and product backlogs. Strong written, verbal, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and delivery timelines. Ability to operate effectively within defined scope, governance boundaries, and contractual deliverables. Backlog readiness and quality of user story development. Sprint execution consistency and delivery predictability.
• Accuracy and timeliness of delivery tracking and reporting. Effectiveness of cross-functional coordination and dependency management.
• Reduction of delivery impediments and execution delays. Stakeholder satisfaction with delivery support and communication. Adherence to established Agile processes and project timelines .

Key Responsibilities:

• Support delivery of assigned AI and Machine Learning initiatives within established scope, timelines, and delivery object
• Support the Data Science Manager by organizing, reviewing, and preparing inbound business requests for technical refinement and prioritization
• .Partner closely with the Data Science Manager to execute the established AI/ML product roadmap and delivery strategies
• Translate approved business and technical requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items
• .Facilitate day-to-day Agile and Scrum activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and related delivery ceremonies under the direction of internal leadership
• Maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) Boards, ensuring backlog health, sprint tracking, velocity reporting, capacity planning, and delivery metrics are current and accurate.
• Collaborate with enterprise project management, portfolio intake, engineering, and data science teams to align delivery schedules and manage cross-functional dependencies.
• .Work with technical teams to clarify requirements, answer delivery-related questions, and remove execution impediment.
• .Monitor project progress, risks, assumptions, and dependencies, escalating issues to internal leadership when appropriate
• Support development and maintenance of delivery documentation, status reporting, and other project artifacts.
