Inova Fairfax Hospital Operating Room is seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join the team. This role will be full-time varied shifts | Sign-on Bonus & Relocation Available.

Job Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• The Surgical Technologist 1 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts.
\n
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure.
\n
• Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of the first scrub on all basic surgical cases.
\n
• Selects proper sterilization method of instruments/equipment ; sterilizes before procedures, as necessary, and verifies instruments as sterile.
\n
• Demonstrates the application of the principles of aseptic technique.
\n
• Prepares the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures based on the scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.
\n
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
\n

Minimum Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Education : High School diploma or equivalent
\n
• Certification : Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start.
\n
• License : Registered Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist required upon start
\n

Preferred Qualifications: 

\n

\n
• Experience: Level one (1) trauma experience. 
\n
