Reporting to a Group Manager of Purchasing, you will manage purchasing activities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, focusing on Maintenance, Repair, and Operating (MRO) supplies and outsourced services.This is a facility-based role, requiring strong collaboration with operations teams, suppliers, and internal partners to drive value, improve processes, and ensure supply continuity. Join us during an exciting transformation as we build new capabilities, improve efficiency, and capture significant savings.What You Will DoSupport and execute company-wide sourcing strategies for MRO and production-related categoriesProcess purchase orders, track deliveries, and mitigate inventory overages using the company’s ERP systemIssue Requests for Quotations (RFQs), evaluate supplier bids, negotiate terms and pricing, and select suppliers based on total cost of ownershipCollaborate across operations, engineering, logistics, and finance to understand requirements and deliver solutionsManage supplier relationships and foster collaboration with logistics and transportation teams to optimize delivery and costsEnsure compliance with all safety, environmental, purchasing, and contractual policies and guidelinesAnalyze root causes of invoice exceptions and implement preventive actionsDrive continuous process improvements and automation to enhance purchasing effectiveness and efficiencyUtilize strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and organizational skillsManage competing priorities and deadlines with a strong customer focus and sense of urgencySelf-directed with a service-oriented attitude and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentProvide occasional weekend remote support (typically 3-4 times/year), if applicable for the locationWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)3+ years of purchasing, procurement, manufacturing operations or related supply chain function experienceProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and OutlookWillingness to travel up to 25% depending on location and business needsWhat Will Put You AheadPurchasing experience in manufacturing or maintenance environments, preferably pulp & paper or similar industriesAdvanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, Tableau, and Cognos reportingExperience working with suppliers and using multiple ERP systems (e.g., MP2, M3, Asset Suite, SAP S/4HANA)Experience in contract negotiation, supplier management, and category strategy executionExposure to data analytics and process improvement methodologiesBachelor’s degreeAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
