Health Agent The Town of Great Barrington is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and community-focused leader to serve as its next Health Agent. Reporting to the Town Manager and working closely with the Board of Health, the Health Agent serves as the leader of the Town's public health efforts, helping to protect and enhance the health, safety, and quality of life of residents while building trust and strong community relationships. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, effective communicator, and problem-solver who believes that exceptional public service begins with listening, collaboration, and responsiveness. The Health Agent works closely with residents, businesses, restaurants, developers, healthcare providers, regional partners, and municipal departments to deliver public health services that are professional, accessible, and solution-oriented. Responsibilities include leadership of public health programs, environmental health services, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, community health initiatives, Board of Health support, grant administration, and departmental operations. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in public health, environmental health, public administration, health sciences, emergency management, or a related field, along with at least five years of progressively responsible experience and three years of supervisory or management experience. Municipal public health experience and applicable certifications are preferred. Current salary range is $68,000-$73,000, with compensation under review as part of an ongoing position classification update. The Town offers a comprehensive benefits package.
