Location: North Canton, OH

Pay: $90-120k DOE

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and components for our manufacturing projects. The role focuses on machine design and tooling, producing accurate CAD models and drawings, preparing bills of materials, supporting prototype build and testing, and managing engineering change requests. The ideal candidate balances hands-on technical ability with clear client and cross-functional communication to deliver reliable, manufacturable solutions on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead machine and component design projects from concept through production, applying principles of mechanics and materials.
• Create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Design and specify tool and die components; collaborate with toolmakers and vendors to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), part lists, and purchasing documentation for new and revised designs.
• Drive Engineering Change Requests (ECRs/ECOs), update drawings and documentation, and coordinate implementation with manufacturing and QA.
• Work directly with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements, present design solutions, and incorporate feedback.
• Support prototype assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and validation; iterate designs based on test results.
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality teams to ensure smooth handover to manufacturing and resolve production issues.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company design guidelines, and maintain organized engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical/machine design, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD with a strong portfolio of CAD deliverables.
• Hands-on experience with tool and die design and working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with Engineering Change Request (ECR/ECO) processes and revision control.
• Excellent client interaction and communication skills; able to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
