Sr. Platform Engineer (Websphere/Weblogic)

Sr. Platform Engineer (Websphere/Weblogic) This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining digital technology infrastructure to support information technology applications and services. The position requires collaboration with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and implement new features to meet user needs and business goals. Additionally, the role involves upgrading existing platforms to improve performance and functionality, writing clean, efficient, and scalable code, and troubleshooting and debugging complex issues. Responsibilities Designs and develops high-quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Leads the application of internal software deployment platform, continuous integration or continuous delivery pipeline, and twelve‑factor development methodology to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases. Partners with a cross‑functional team of product managers, designers, and other engineers to gather complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Writes and maintains complex unit tests and integration tests, and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software, applying test‑driven development as needed. Recommends options for improving the software development and deployment processes, and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability. Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for complex software applications, deployment processes, and system configurations. Provides technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution. Requirements Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5‑7 years of relevant experience. Required Skills Weblogic WebSphere Webhosting Technologies Automation and Scripting and CI/CD integration Preferred Skills Deep expertise in IBM WebSphere and/or Oracle WebLogic administration, including clustering, performance tuning, and secure configurations. Strong knowledge of web hosting technologies (Apache, IIS) and reverse proxy/load balancing (IBM Server, Oracle Server, NGINX or equivalent). Experience with automation and scripting (wsadmin, WLST, Python, Shell) and integration with CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with security best practices, SSL/TLS, authentication (LDAP, SSO), and compliance standards. Proficiency in monitoring and performance optimization using tools like AppDynamics or Datadog. Exposure to cloud hosting and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for middleware workloads.
