Benefits information: Responsibilities Under direction of the school principal, plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students. Creates an environment conducive to intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. Supervises students in various school settings, monitors and evaluates outcomes, and communicates with students, parents, staff, and the community. Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet all learners’ needs, maintains records, follows procedures, and monitors proper use of equipment and facilities. Physical demands are as required by the job; required to attend meetings, programs, and activities outside instructional hours as mandated by MCEA contract. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of MCPS curriculum, techniques for integrating curriculum, MCPS policies, and effective instructional practices. Understanding of the teaching/learning process and ability to provide instruction reflecting multiple perspectives and multicultural education. Ability to infuse technology into curriculum. Effective collaboration with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-based staff, students, parents, and community. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills. Education, Training, and Experience Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited college or university is required. Foundation office programs require a secondary school diploma with at least five years of full-time industry experience in the discipline within the last ten years, or a bachelor’s degree in education with demonstrated industry experience. Industry licensures and/or certifications are preferred; must meet Maryland state certification requirements in the appropriate field of education.
