Quantity Surveyor

About the Role Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Welkom , with a flexible hybrid work arrangement. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring projects remain within budget while maintaining high standards of quality. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients, providing essential financial and contractual advice. This is a key position within the company's construction division , offering a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to contribute to significant regional developments in the Free State. Key Responsibilities Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation. Analyse construction methods and materials to determine costs and provide value engineering advice. Monitor and control project expenditure, reporting on variances and potential cost savings. Manage contract administration, including variations, claims, and final accounts. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and verify payment applications. Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional accreditation or membership with a relevant body is an advantage. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry . Strong understanding of contract law and construction processes. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and financial management skills. Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
