Associate Quality Control Lab Technician - 2nd shift

Position Overview As an Associate Quality Lab Technician, you will inspect incoming materials and parts to ensure vendor quality, verify in‑house production, and maintain our commitment to high‑quality products. You will work Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with overtime as needed, collaborating closely with engineers and the quality improvement team. Responsibilities Inspect incoming materials and parts to ensure vendor quality and report findings using software programs. Create, revise, or update spreadsheets and electronic records used to collect lab information. Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes, first‑piece and final output, and communicate and assist engineers in resolving non‑conformances. Contribute to and participate in improvement projects within the plant. Report non‑conformances using the TQC system and follow through to execution of disposition. Desired Skills and Experience 3 years of experience performing product inspections. Ability to work in a Microsoft software environment including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy of information; identify options for solving problems. Ability to meet productivity standards, deadlines, and work schedules; fulfill commitments to peers, co‑workers, and supervisors; hold self and others accountable for high‑quality, timely results; work independently and efficiently. Ability to work well within a small team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Accountability and Dependability; consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance. Mathematical reasoning: ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and multiply and divide with tens and hundreds. Follow written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies, while working independently. Attend consistently in accordance with attendance policy. Safety is the top priority; recognize and respond to dangerous situations, follow HSE rules and requirements, and wear required PPE such as gloves, protective clothing, heat‑resistant gear, and respirators as needed. Continuously build your skillset to influence decisions and recommend or implement process improvements to grow department throughput while meeting product quality. Effective communication: speak to relay information to all departments and at all levels; listen and ask questions for understanding. Knowledge of company quality standards and quality control processes. Problem‑solving ability to handle practical problems and situations with limited standardization. Teamwork: collaborate with other team members to accomplish group goals. Results focus and initiative: multitask and take initiative in a challenging, fast‑paced environment. Customer service skills: apply customer service principles and processes on the job and with others. Reading comprehension: ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Physical Requirements The employee must stand, walk, see, talk, hear, and occasionally sit. The role requires continuous operation of large equipment and the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with heavier weights using proper equipment. Work Environment Regularly work around moving mechanical parts; the noise level is loud. The job may expose employees to dust, heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions. Schedule & Location Full‑time, non‑exempt position in Gallatin, TN. Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with overtime as needed. Compensation $19.38 – $29.09 per hour.
