Due to MSGs continued growth, a new opening is available for a Civil Engineer to assist with our projects in Columbus, OH! This role focuses on commercial site development while offering exposure to a wide range of public and private projects including industrial, residential, energy, and water/wastewater developments throughout the Midwest.

Key Responsibilities

• Support licensed engineers in the design and preparation of commercial and site development projects
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical designs, and construction document packages
• Develop feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning studies, and early-stage planning documents
• Perform stormwater modeling, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis, and drainage design
• Prepare cost estimates and detailed design plans for commercial and mixed-use developments
• Coordinate with internal MSG teams including Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Construction Services
• Apply agency standards and design criteria to support permitting and project approvals
• Engage with reviewing agencies to address comments and guide projects through approvals
• Support projects from conceptual design through construction documentation

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
• EI certification required , with ability to obtain PE or PLA within 6-12 months
• Practical experience in site development design and plan preparation
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading, pipe networks, and plan set development
• Experience applying municipal, county, and state design standards
• Experience preparing Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports strongly preferred
• Roadway design and survey experience a plus
• Utility design or utility field inspection experience a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable coordinating with reviewing agencies, municipalities, and internal project teams

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the companys good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
