Shipping & Receiving Associate

Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing and logistics sector, is seeking a dedicated Shipping & Receiving Associate to join their team. As a Shipping & Receiving Associate, you will be an integral part of the warehouse operations supporting the logistics team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.

Shipping and receiving associates are responsible for all items entering and leaving the facility. This role works closely with the Logistics Manager, Quality, and Operations to ensure on-time delivery of product and correctly received and distributed product. This position requires attention to detail, ability to follow written instructions, and strong communication and time management skills. This position will temporarily perform the responsibilities of a material handler.

Responsibilities include:

Creating shipping labels and packing slips using the ERP system and carrier software
Managing documentation for customer shipments and carrier-required documents
Picking and packaging shipments to protect customer parts and ensure timely deliveries
Reading, understanding, and executing specific packaging instructions
Maintaining cleanliness and order of department
Receiving materials and products into the facility and informing relevant parties
Tracking received items in the ERP system and accurately recording quantities and details
Performing basic incoming inspections and maintaining certifications as needed
Distributing items to their proper floor locations as required
Visually inspecting and counting parts prior to shipment
Identifying and reporting defects regarding parts and materials

Qualifications include:

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in manufacturing or shipping/receiving environment preferred
Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Experience with ERP systems preferred
Experience with courier software (FedEx, UPS, etc.) preferred
Experience with tow motors preferred

Other requirements include:

Reliable transportation
Strong verbal communication skills
Ability to stand for extended periods, perform push/pull, bending, and lifting tasks, and keyboarding
Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds frequently and over 50 pounds with equipment
Attention to detail and able to read and comprehend instructions
Time management and organizational skills
