Investment Funds Associate Attorney
Direct Counsel is seeking an Investment Funds Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in Los Angeles, California .
This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 4–8 years of investment funds experience to join a rapidly expanding Investment Funds practice representing sponsors and investment managers across a broad spectrum of alternative investment vehicles.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on the formation, structuring, and operation of private investment funds.
Draft and negotiate fund formation documents, partnership agreements, subscription materials, and related investment management documentation.
Counsel investment managers on regulatory, governance, and operational matters affecting investment funds.
Represent sponsors of private equity funds, hedge funds, private credit funds, real estate funds, hybrid funds, and other alternative investment vehicles.
Assist with matters involving retail alternative investment products, including business development companies (BDCs), interval funds, and closed-end funds.
Work closely with clients on fund launches, capital raising initiatives, and ongoing fund operations.
Collaborate with attorneys across tax, corporate, finance, and regulatory practices to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
Participate in business development initiatives and cultivate strong client relationships.
J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
Active Bar membership in good standing.
4–8 years of experience in investment management and private fund formation.
Experience representing private investment funds and investment managers is required.
Strong drafting, analytical, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in business development and direct client engagement.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
Base salary: $310,000–$420,000 , depending on experience, qualifications, and other applicable factors.
