About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of telemetry experience required License: Valid nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - Knowledge of chest tubes - Dysthymia training Description: The unit has 36 beds. Patient ratios are 4:1 with cath recovery and a maximum ratio of 6:1. At times, ratios may be stretched to 7:1. Unit staffing includes Patient Care Technicians on both day and night shifts, with Unit Clerks available on day shifts. Types of equipment include remote telemetry monitors and Alaris pumps. The documentation system in use is Meditech. Scheduling requires every other weekend. The floating policy prioritizes agency staff. Float assignments may occur to other units as needed. The team strives for a 75% patient satisfaction rate. Advanced procedures performed on the unit include chest tube insertions, bedside paracentesis, and thoracentesis. Unit guidelines and policies include telemetry monitoring and stroke policies. Recognition awards include Daisy and Bee award certificates, along with a monthly STAR award for outstanding staff members.
