Construction Superintendent

Nauvoo, IL (must be local, 50 miles or less) Contract Type 12 months (rolling) Position Type Full Time Job Summary The Construction Superintendent is an experienced people manager with civil, electrical, and structural experience, ideally in the solar industry. This role manages daily operations for assigned site(s), coordinating subcontractors to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality project completion. Effective communication and time management are crucial for balancing workflow and overseeing quality inspections throughout construction. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily activities of sub-contractors on site Host daily POD meetings with contractors Enforce OSHA and best safety practices on site Record weekly toolbox talks and daily job hazard analysis Maintain daily logs, photos, RFIs, observations, punch lists, weekly meeting minutes, three-week look aheads, deliveries, quantities, and manpower tracking in Procore Log deliveries and bills of lading in Procore Perform mock-up, daily, and milestone inspections Host weekly progress meetings with all stakeholders and distribute meeting minutes Conduct weekly and rain event SWPPP inspections Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure quality standards are met Work closely with Senior Construction Superintendent and Project Management Team to maintain schedules and quality standards Lead by example, enforce safety policies and procedures, and address non-compliance Communicate effectively with contractors, consultants, and project managers Share experience and best practices for continuous improvement Assist with design in Geo-Tech and Push/Pull Testing Assist Pre-Construction team with site surveys and utility walks Supervisory Responsibility Direct reports: Yes Required Education High School Diploma Preferred Education 4-year college degree in a relevant discipline is preferred Required Experience Four years of construction supervisory experience with a successful track record in project supervision Preferred Experience Prior management/construction experience (5 years preferred) Solar industry construction experience Additional Eligibility Requirements Exceptional oral and written communication skills Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, and other construction management tools Knowledge of OSHA safety standards; OSHA 10 and/or 30 Certification First Aid CPR Certification SWPPP Certification Procore experience is a plus Understanding of medium voltage systems and equipment is a plus Strong attention to detail and clear communication abilities Willingness to travel Valid and current Driver's License Bonus / Nice to Haves Willingness to relocate NFPA 70E Certification OSHA 30 Professional licenses in trade (e.g., CSL, NABCEP PV, etc.) Strong organizational skills Leadership ability Self-motivated Strong ability to learn and adapt Field-based position Physical Demands Extensive walking Lifting up to 50 lbs Travel Daily travel with occasional overnight stays required #J-18808-Ljbffr
