If so, we may have an opportunity for you!Tigg's Canteen Services is currently seeking a Dual Full-Time Permanent Lead Cook to work at both Grand Traverse County Jail and Leelanau County Jail in Traverse City /Suttons Bay, Michigan.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a kitchen environment, is comfortable taking on leadership responsibilities, and wants to be part of a team that makes a difference every day.What We OfferWe provide a competitive wage and benefits package, including:Starting pay of $21.00 per hourMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k)Paid Time OffAnd more!What You'll DoAs a Lead Cook, you will play an important role in the daily operation of the facility kitchen. Responsibilities may include:Leading, directing, and assisting kitchen staff with daily meal preparationPreparing, baking, and cooking meals according to company standardsReading and following company recipes and established proceduresHelping ensure meals are prepared accurately and on scheduleAssisting with kitchen organization and maintaining a clean work areaAssisting with kitchen clean-up and maintaining proper sanitationWorking as part of a team in a structured correctional environmentProviding support and leadership to ensure daily kitchen operations run smoothlyQualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:A positive, dependable, and professional attitudeThe ability to work effectively in a structured correctional environmentThe ability to read, understand, and follow company recipesThe ability to lead, instruct, and work alongside other kitchen staffThe ability to assist with food preparation, baking, cooking, and clean-upThe ability to lift up to 50 poundsRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basisFlexibility to work varying days and hours, approximately 10:00 AM-6:00 PMMust be able to obtain clearance and approval to work inside the facilityPrevious food service or kitchen experience is a plus, but it is not required.
